Meanwhile in the Philippines..

So, Im writing this not to be preachy or self-righteous.. It just bothers and saddens me so much seeing the condition of other people on the news.

This is what’s been going on in different parts of Luzon the whole day today, Aug 7, 2012.

We Filipinos know that hundreds of storms pass thru our country every year. We also know the effects of these storms to our country as well as what causes these effects. Yet every time we experience heavy rainfalls and storms, we end up with the same damn problem — waist-deep to 12-feet-deep floods.

Why do we never learn? We all know that our trash and ways of disposing it is the biggest culprit here. Yet the same thing happens (at least almost every year).

I really hope and pray that someday soon, people learn from this.. But I guess til I see people putting their car windows down and throwing candy wrappers out the window, or seeing piles of garbage in all the wrong places, these scenes and situations will just keep on continuing.

We can’t and shouldn’t expect that someone will always be there to rescue us from such floods and tragedies.. Why wait to be rescued when we can actually prevent such thing from happening?
